Sad Rudolph

Here is Sad Rudolph, our house mascot. He represents our mismatched but well-loved Christmas decorations, and he just cracs me up. Also, the kids just really love him. He is the first and easiest decoration to go up, so I don't have more to share yet, but will this weekend.

I think this is going to be our Christmas card picture this year. We don't have any snow yet this year, so I can't get a good winter shot of these two doing wintery things like I usually like to do. Gotta tell you, it's not really putting me in a Christmas card making mood. I am hoping for a beautiful light snowfall that is perfect for a photo op and then just melts away. I am loving this mild weather - but mama wants snow in her Christmas cards!
I bought some decorations at Target today and will hopefully be getting them put up in the next couple of days. I think they are going to be soooo cute (they are outdoors decorations) but I am sore scered they it could be too minimal. But, I have done zero decorating outdoors in the previous years, so it will certainly be a step up no matter what, right? I'll post some pics & we'll see if it works or not.
It is going to be a busy December, but lots of fun. I am looking forward to visiting with my friends & family & really watching my kids enjoy the holidays.

Mouse today, playing with her cousin at the get-together before Grandma-Grandma's funeral. Cousin was pretending to be her cat, and Mouse had to go to the bathroom. In bathroom with me.
Mouse: When I am done, I am going to go back to playing catch with the cat.
Me: Oh, sounds good.
Mouse: But, dogs are usually better at playing catch.
Me: That's true, dogs do like to play fetch more than cats.
Mouse: But this cat is sensible.

Back from Las Vegas to visit my dad. It was a lot of fun. I have such a better appreciation for the beauty of the desert than I did when I was 19. It was stark and beautiful there.
Everything went really smoothly too, the kids traveled really well, and the Creep and I kept our patience and "vacation" attitude so we had a great time. It was good to see my dad- he looks really good.

A Few of My Favorite Television Programs

Top Shows (Not Reality)
1. Lost
2. House
3. Heroes
4. Boston Public
5. The Office
6. 30 Rock
7. Grey's Anatomy

Top Reality Shows
1. Road Rules/Real World Challenge
2. Project Runway
3. Survivor
4. Top Chef
5. America's Next Top Model
6. Life of Ryan

I just saw the preview for the upcoming Road Rules/Real World Challenge: Gauntlet III, and I am soooooo excited. Looks like plenty of drama, hook-ups, fights, and over-excited reality adolescent-adult hijinks will be happening. Can't wait. For sure, by far, my favorite show that airs on television. If I were to be stuck on an island and was lucky to have a tv that got one who only, this would be it.

I am going to dye my hair for the first time tonight. First time on my own, first time ever! Wish me luck. House is a mess, dishes not done, should be cooking dinner, but I am here contemplating my life.
So much to be thankful for. I have health, a loving family, I get to stay at home with my kids, we all laugh a lot. It is too good. I am sending out good vibes and praying for all those who are not in as good a situation, or are feeling pain today.
The Christmas gifts just keep rolling in. I know it is a little bit out of control, and I am seeing a pattern in myself about it. But I am having so much fun! Plus I am also giving to those who need it, so suck it, anyone who cares to judge.
That is my new goal - to not judge others - what do I know anyway?
